Some time ago we could only read articles about products and business related to solar energy in trend reports. These articles called our attention because they seemed impossible and far from our reality. Nowadays, it’s pretty common to see this kind of information in the media.
The US has one of the largest solar power plants in the world that produces 550 megawatts, which is sufficient energy to power 160 thousand residences and avoid 377 thousand tons of CO2 emissions per year.
In Brazil, some projects already show advances to the expansion of solar energy in the country. In December 2015, a Program was created to stimulate the generation of clean energy through solar panels. The program intends to invest R$100 billion in new Technologies and until 2030, 2.7 million residences could have access to clean and renewable energy. This way, Brazil can avoid 29 million tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Nowadays, Mineirão Stadium has solar panels installed, producing enough energy to supply its own necessities and sending the excess to the national grid, capable of powering a thousand more residences.
The use of solar energy brings advantages, since it can generate savings in the consumption of electricity and reduce the CO2 emissions. Some companies, such as EcoSolarCool®, already invest in the Brazilian Market, offering solar air-conditioners, solar freezers and solar refrigerators. These systems are easy to install and EcoSolarCool solar air-conditioners can save up to 50% on energy consumption, compared to a conventional air conditioner. EcoSolarCool® presence in the Brazilian market is a testimony to the potential Brazil has to substitute traditional energy sources for clean energy.
